Joan Kane is the featured artist in the current Alaska Quarterly Review Volume 31. At this event she will read selected poems, discuss Alaska Quarterly Review, and writing opportunities for Alaska Native students.

Tuesday, Oct. 7: Alaskan author Seth Kantner will visit Cordova: there will be a book signing at Orca Book Store in the afternoon, a potluck with the Cordova Book Club, and a reading at Cordova Public Library. 8 pm.

Meet journalist Andy Hall as he shares slides and recounts the 1967 Wilcox Expedition, one of the greatest climbing accidents ever to occur on the highest peak of North America. Twelve climbers attempted the ascent--only five survived to return home.
