Welcome to Alaska Book Week 2014!

On behalf of Alaska Center for the Book and 49 Writers, we are delighted to announce that Alaska Book Week will take place October 4-11. This week-long celebration concludes with the Great Alaska Book Fair.

For those of you who are new to this annual celebration, Alaska Book Week was established to promote Alaska's authors and their books. Libraries, booksellers, educators, and schools statewide honor these writers and books with displays, author visits, book club events, press, and more. We encourage communities throughout the state to create their own unique events, and we are happy to promote them on the Alaska Book Week website.

Last year, Alaska Book Week featured exciting events across the state, from Kodiak to Ester, and Seward to Dillingham. These events included the Great Alaska Book Fair organized by the Alaska Writers Guild and APU, a talk by The Raven's Gift author Don Rearden, and opportunities to meet Alaskan author Erin McKittrick, among many others. As we turn to this year's Alaska Book Week, we look forward to continuing and improving upon the traditions that communities statewide have developed. We would like to thank the authors, booksellers, educators, and community members who volunteered their time and resources last year and look forward to your participation this year. Alaska Book Week would not be successful without your support!

We would like to begin by thanking our generous sponsors thus far:
