Sponsorship Update: Alaska Northwest Books and Graphic Arts Books

Alaska Book Week is grateful the financial and in-kind donations from community members all over the state! Without this support, Alaska Book Week would not be as successful as it has been these past few years. On that score, we are excited to announce that Alaska Northwest Books® and Graphic Arts Books® will be sponsoring Alaska Book Week again this year!

Alaska Northwest Books® and Graphic Arts Books®

"Our mission is to connect readers with exceptional authors and their inspiring writing by developing books of value with regional focus and of national note utilizing emerging technology in print and e-book publishing. We focus mainly on regional titles, but we also publish cookbooks, biographies, fiction, young adult novels, children's books and cover categories such as history, photographic works and more, as well. Our roots trace back to 1959 in Alaska with the start of our Alaska Northwest Books® imprint, to 1967 with our Graphic Arts Books® imprint, and up to present day with our WestWinds Press® imprint. Our newest additions are: the Pruett Publishing series, acquired in 2012, and the Companion Press series, acquired in 2013."

Thank you to Alaska Northwest Books® and Graphic Arts Books® for your generous support! For more information about these sponsors, please visit www.graphicartsbooks.com.

Curious About Your Favorite Alaskan Authors? Check Out 49 Writers!

Alaska Book Week is not for many months, but we are still hard at work preparing for this event. In the meantime, we understand that many of you may be curious about what your favorite Alaskan authors are up to. If you are interested in other author events outside of Alaska Book Week, we invite you to visit 49 Writers' website at http://www.49writingcenter.org/.

49 Writers is part of the coalition that helps to put Alaska Book Week together. Their site includes a calendar of events, as well as information about writing workshops and opportunities to connect with your favorite Alaskan authors! You can also visit 49 Writers' blog at http://49writers.blogspot.com/ to read narratives and perspectives of contributing Alaskan writers.

As always, we would like to thank you all for your support of Alaska Book Week. There are some exciting developments taking place for this year, so be sure to check back here and on our Facebook page periodically.
