Event Update #4: Author Updates

We are nearing the end of event updates. We will provide a document that lists all daily events in the next couple of days, so please check back soon. There is only a week left!

Tricia Brown

  • Sat., Oct. 3, 10:30-12:30 p.m.: Booksigning at Anchorage Museum Gift Shop.
  • Wed., Oct. 7, 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.: Booksigning adult nonfiction The Alaska Homesteaders Handbook with co-author Nancy Gates at Fireside Books in Palmer. Also I'll be signing Charlie and the Blanket Toss as well as any other Tricia Brown books they have in stock. Shoppers are invited to bring in copies of my books from their home library, and I'd be happy to sign and personalize them.
  • Sat., Oct. 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: The Great Alaska Book Fair at the Mall at Sears. I'll have a table there with a variety of my books for adults and children. 7-9 p.m.: As part of the Alaska Book Week fundraiser, I've donated a half-day school or library author visit. PTOs or individuals may bid on this unique silent auction item on behalf of their favorite student(s).

Leigh Newman and Alderworks Alaska Writers

For Alaska Book Week, the new Alderworks Alaska Writers and Artists Retreat in Dyea has launched its website: alderworksalaska.com. The application period for Summer 2016 residencies will begin November 15. Leigh Newman was a guest writer invited to test out the cabins in August. Here is a video of her reading from a cabin porch for Alaska Book Week:
